Hello friends! Getting back in the saddle again after a long weekend. Spending most of the day up to my eyeballs in floor planning!
One of my best friends (she is one of my bridesmaids!) got married on Saturday and I was her maid of honor! The wedding was down in Tacoma and I had lots to do so we rented a hotel room at the Hotel Murano and went down a few days early.
I hosted ...

Week 2! Setting the stage for arranging. No matter what I’m styling, there are a few steps that I never skip! Follow along for best results.

Clear the area of existing items, dust the table (or shelves, etc.) and all the objects. Gather objects from other rooms that you could repurpose here. Lay all objects out on a table or the floor. Evaluate the space you’ll be filling – you want your arranged objects to contrast the background ...

I stumbled across this old Lonny image a few days ago and can’t get it out of my head! Since first discovering all things lucite in Domino magazine (must have been 2008?) I’ve been a fan of using it in living rooms. The weightlessness really fits well into most designs because it feels unobtrusive while adding a dose of modern to the mix as well. And in a busy living space, those qualities are a no-brainer. But ...

Hello there, friends! Today has been so far a relaxing start to what will be a VERY crazy and busy week! I took my time sipping my coffee and answering emails – when the real work starts (pretty much as soon as I hit “publish”) then the week will not slow down!
I’ve started a new project – we’re still establishing the scope and signing contracts but that doesn’t mean that my little brain isn’t already ...

One element of wedding planning that is directly related to home decor (and therefore basically one of the first things I was inspired to tackle) is the wedding registry. I have always had a LOT of opinions on registries, so now that I’ve actually put one together, I thought I would share some of my thoughts. I’ve read a lot of registry guides and always seemed to have major disagreements with them, so here’s my ...

One of my favorite past-times is rearranging my home décor accessories. Obviously I’m in the right career! Whether on a tabletop, bookshelves, the fireplace mantel, or in the office, the act of arranging accessories and tchotchkes is “styling” – after all, the whole point is to conclude with a stylish and visually pleasing arrangement.
Whether you’re working with fine antique furniture and custom built-ins or with big box store tables and Ikea bookcases, the principles behind ...

Lately I’ve been finding myself drawn to spaces with lots of full white drapery and lots of white walls. It might be a reaction to wanting to mix up our own decor (a direct reaction to the dark florals I stare at everyday?), or maybe just craving ease and simplicity in my subconscious  We’ve got a LOT of stuff going on right now, both in terms of Maggie Rose Interiors and in our personal lives, and ...

While browsing World Market last night for a fun barstool round-up, I stumbled on this unique TV stand that I think is an interesting way to showcase (rather than hide) your TV. Depending on what’s playing (aka not Dawson’s Creek re-runs), it could even be a piece of art?
Of course, this only works if you don’t have a million video game consoles and multiple device players, but I think a DVD player and Apple TV ...

Happy Memorial Day!
Our kitchen rug is tired and stained and desperately needs replacing. I’ve been thinking about getting some sort of kilim or Persian rug for the kitchen to add a little bit of a boho look, but I’m worried about it getting really dirty (at least stains wouldn’t show as much in the pattern?). I’ve been checking out some of these stylish kitchens as inspiration.

Ryan is apprehensive about how practical they are – anyone ...

This is a guest post by fellow blogger Helen who is hip to all the latest and greatest in luxury bath design! Helen Davies currently works as a freelance writer for Better Bathrooms.
How many bathrooms have you seen recently that could be considered to be truly inspirational? I’ve been pondering this one, because I think a few elements need to come together in order for a room to achieve ‘inspiring’, or aspirational, status.
While other areas ...
