Remember these beauties?
The double-welt cord I sewed turned out well enough for one of the chairs…
But my sewing skills (as mentioned  last week) are subpar, and the welting for the second chair was crazy wonky, sloppy, and to make matters worse, spilling glue out the edges (since it wasn’t an even width). I’m blaming the tension on my machine for crapping out halfway through the job. Immediately after finishing the chairs, I knew I’d have ...

In serious love with this Harlem Brownstone from Elle Decor.
So much, in fact, that it’s the basis for my latest Interiors to Inspire post on Coco+Kelley today! I’m sharing the best rooms of the house and how to get the look.
And if you missed my first two posts on C+K, don’t fret. You can find them here and here.

There’s nothing I love more than pillows (though lamps are a close second). So I was very excited this morning while poking around etsy to see all the beautiful options my sweet friend Arianna has for sale in her shop, Arianna Belle.
Not only are there gorgeous pillows already made, but she’ll do a custom listing – with designer fabric she already has OR help order exactly what you want. Pretty much I’ll be sending all ...

This is a guest post for the sweet and talented Adriana Willsie – you’ll see her custom pet portraits at the bottom. She’s got some serious talent. Think I need a little painting of Thisbe??
Sure, you’re obsessed with your precious pup, and you can’t get enough of your cantankerous cat. But when it comes to decorating your home, you steer clear of showcasing your furry friends. After all, your aunt has covered every inch of her house ...

We bought this little console table in November of 2010 with the intention of skirting it and using it in our dining room (in the old apartment). And while this isn’t even the very beginning of this story (we’re talking months of hunting down a table that wasn’t too wide and that wasn’t “too nice” to immediately put fabric on it), it’s the first step I have a photo of.
It was from Target (online only ...

Happy Valentine’s Day, my dears!
I hope you have someone special who is spoiling you today – even if it’s YOU. You deserve it! We just celebrated our six year anniversary a couple weeks ago, so we’re taking it easy today and have ingredients for a nice dinner at home tonight. And of course I couldn’t resist making heart-shaped toast with our eggs and bacon this morning!
Do you have special plans?
xoxo Maggie

I’ve been woefully quiet about the Bachelor Pad project for some time, but it’s not because things haven’t been happening! We’ve been busy emailing and shopping and strategizing and restrategizing… (since the Bachelor is on a budget, some of my initial ideas get swapped around until we find something a little more affordable – or we end up working with what we can find on Craigslist, Overstock, or the thrift store.)
So while we’ve been very ...

My friends Christina and Dennis are very talented artists and screen-printers from Detroit. When they asked me to cheer up their sad dining room, I knew it was a chance to have a little fun.
It’s slowly coming together (they’re also tackling their living room as well as a bathroom remodel!) and Christina posted some pictures on Instagram the other day. With her permission, I’m sharing them as a little sneak peek – can’t wait to ...

As a renter, I get a special thrill out of decorating bathrooms and kitchens. The possibilities! I love using neutrals in the bathroom rather than elements that will date quickly. And hidden storage is a must! For this room, I stuck with interesting but neutral large pieces (clawfoot tub, double sink console, subway tile walls) and then spiced it up with metal feather trimmed mirrors, super glamorous sconces, and fun elements like the mirrored stool ...

Artist of the Month is a regular feature posted on the first Thursday of the month. Museum visits are free in Seattle today, and some museums have extended hours! Go see some art!
I couldn’t ignore the powerful online presence of artist Sally King Benedict. She is a favorite among bloggers and you can’t do an art round-up without one of her paintings or works on paper. As I lean toward abstract paintings anyway, I am ...
