In a perfect world, I’d get to walk through every e-design project at least once. That’s why I ask my e-design clients to make a walk-through video if possible – it helps get a sense of how the room feels in 3-D. So when I got another local inquiry that was interested in e-design, we tacked on an hour consultation so I could visit the room in question and talk over some ideas.
The room is ...

I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post that I’m also starting work on my friend Laura’s nursery! We’re still waiting to find out if it’s a boy or girl (I’m not as anxious as Laura and her husband, but I can’t wait to find out!) but we’re getting the basic planning out of the way and I’ve also been pulling some colors.
Laura’s husband is a big fan of orange so I’m going to include that ...

Gotta love when an e-design client sends me a pinterest board full of glamorous but fun and colorful interiors as a jumping-off point. Page and her hubby have a second home that needed some updates and almost all new furnishings – and I was able to help from over 1,000 miles away.
In the downstairs living room we went for a slightly more formal arrangement, with a mirror placed to reflect light from outside. This is ...

It’s been almost a year since we started work on the Bachelor Pad project and there is finally light at the end of the tunnel! Just a reminder: this is a budget project, so we’ve been chipping away at it month by month as our Bachelor Matt has money to spend and time to spare for DIY.
I’m trying to find a good photographer to shoot it in September (if you know of someone who works ...

Did you know that I offer hourly local consultations? I do – and while a lot can happen in a two hour consult (my minimum), the sweet spot seems to happen around the four hour mark. It’s enough time to run out to some stores together and rearrange the purchases in your home. Sure, it doesn’t include big furniture purchases (unless I recommend something for you to order on your own time), but it’s great ...

It’s been a while since I’ve shared any client work, so I thought I’d share just the design boards from a project that is just wrapping up on my end (they’ll be implementing the design on their own for the most part).
This was fun because Stephanie is a local Seattle client, but since she just wanted a plan that she and her husband could put into place over time, it was basically an e-design project ...

Ok friends, I have a little project in the works and I need a good guinea pig willing participant to make it happen. If you meet the following criteria, I’d love to hear from you!
You might be the one if you…
1. Live in Seattle, WA.
2. Have a room (bedroom, living room, entry, bathroom, etc) that has the majority of pieces in place but is missing the finishing touches (or missing accents like small tables, etc)…
3. ...

Last Thursday I spent part of the afternoon at The Bachelor Pad wrapping up a few projects and making our final list! We even managed to squeeze in a quick trip to West Elm while our spray paint was drying. And before I left I got a few shots of where things are now… which is NOT styled and not even where things will really live, just kinda plopped in post shopping.
New pillow from West ...

Yesterday I drove down to Puyallup to do a little work on my friend and repeat client Laura’s bookshelves, followed by a small gathering of women who wanted to learn all my styling secrets! We enjoyed the refreshments that Laura had prepared and then I spoke on my method for styling bookshelves, using the freshly restyled shelves behind me as an example. The small group size let us have a real discussion and each of ...

I’ve been woefully quiet about the Bachelor Pad project for some time, but it’s not because things haven’t been happening! We’ve been busy emailing and shopping and strategizing and restrategizing… (since the Bachelor is on a budget, some of my initial ideas get swapped around until we find something a little more affordable – or we end up working with what we can find on Craigslist, Overstock, or the thrift store.)
So while we’ve been very ...
