Maybe it’s because I have a secret love of ostriches, but I’m loving my newest musical find, band Yellow Ostrich. You should all love them too. Because I’m seriously addicted.
Have a listen.

Seattle peeps – they’re playing at the Crocodile at the end of the month! Ryan and I will be there. If you decide to go, let me know so we ...
It’s been a while since we had a Music Monday around here! Today I’m sharing one of my current obsessions: Local Natives with one of my favorite songs, “Sun Hands” from their debut album, “Gorilla Manor.”
When Ryan and I went to the Sasquatch music festival over Memorial Day weekend, these guys were there. This was one of the better songs in their set – I think the sound guy was finally getting the hang of ...
I just love this song too much to wait for Monday. It’s so beautiful. I hope you enjoy “Take Care” by Beach House, from the album “Teen Dream”.
Today’s pick is a local Seattle band, Fleet Foxes. Probably one of my favorite bands to listen to on the train in the morning; riding through wintery fields of the Pacific Northwest makes it very clear how these talented guys got their sound.
Doesn’t the video look like it’s from the ’70s? Kinda weird, but I’m liking it.
This week’s Music Monday is one that we’ve been listening to this weekend in preparations for the Christmas season. Here’s The Beach Boys singing “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”.
My main problem with Music Monday has been that a lot of the music I’ve been listening to doesn’t have music videos. So here is the Northwest band Horse Feathers playing live on NPR. Perfect soundtrack for a rainy morning on the train for me.
Shoot, I totally forgot Music Monday, even though I had this fun video picked out!
Music AND a decorating scene? Perfect Monday fodder. And just as good on Tuesday!
Here’s Yael Naim singing “New Soul”.
Let’s start a new little tradition, shall we? We’ll call it Music Monday (oh-so-original), and I’ll share a video or clip of something I’ve been listening to lately.
For the first installment, we have “Lisztomania” by Phoenix, from the album Wolfgang Amadeus. Enjoy!
Please share your thoughts and suggestions for future Music Mondays in the comments! Can’t wait to hear what you think.
You may have heard Ingrid Michaelson, because she’s been popping up everywhere lately (on my Pandora playlist, on MTV while I’m at the gym…). And I’m totally obsessed. Take a listen and see if you like her too! This song is a fun way to start the week. Plus she has perfect eyeliner. Happy Monday! I have a fun week in store so be sure to stick around.
