After sharing the design board for Laura’s Thanksgiving table, I knew it really had to come together so I could show you pictures. We ran into some issues with snow here in Seattle (and on her steep hilly road!) so I’m just getting photos now. A few things changed from the design board, but I love how it turned out!

We were able to do a lot on a small budget. Laura had the white china, goblets, and candlesticks. We picked up the gold chargers at Bed Bath and Beyond, and Laura found the antique milk glass salad plates at an antique mall. The shimmer-trimmed napkins were a steal at Target. We used cuts of burlap to spruce up a plain jane table cloth (she’ll use the burlap as a tree skirt now that Thanksgiving is over!). She painted mini-pumpkins white and attached gold paper (aka name cards) with hot glue.

The flowers were going to be dried hydrangeas painted gold – but I couldn’t find any! My backup was to get fresh white hydrangeas and white roses, but I couldn’t find any white roses. So we went with pink roses (18) and dark red carnations (2 dozen). I wrapped two square vases in extra burlap and tied them with a gold ribbon. We also put in some sparkle leaves (Laura will re-purpose them in her Christmas mantel garland) and dried shafts of wheat (I got them at the craft store). The colors ended up working perfectly with the vintage turkey salt and pepper shakers Laura found at the antique mall! A happy accident.

Thanks Laura (and her hubby Jon!) for letting me take over your holiday table! More pictures are up on facebook.

This turned out lovely Maggie! I love how you used the table runners across the table rather than down the center – brilliant! Totally going to have to try this!

The table is absolutely gorgeous Maggie! Awesome work. I actually really love the unexpected red and pink colors for the table-not traditional Thanksgiving colors, but it works so well. I always love a little of the unexpected!
