Big news today! I’m launching my new (and very first!) ebook, all about finding unexpected things to display in apothecary jars (or mason jars, or hurricane vases, or…). A full 101 suggestions, cause my original post of 50 ideas just wasn’t enough!
The book also has beautiful photographs, taken by Ryan’s generous and talented cousin, Carly! Thanks Carly! And a big shout-out to my friend Ellen who lent me her gorgeous jars for the photo shoot ...

This is a design board I prepared for an e-decorating client in Australia this month. Katie had a spare room that she wanted to start using as an office and extra place to watch tv or movies. All the furniture was leaving the room, so except for the armchairs that were coming in from a different part of the house, we were starting from scratch.
One challenge with the room was the size – it was pretty ...

Two weeks ago, my friend Sam came over and we put together this linen covered corkboard for her room, inspired by the one I have in my office. It took all of 20 minutes (and that includes waiting for the iron to heat up). Isn’t that a gorgeous color?
In blog news, I’ve decided to suspend the monthly email newsletter. Frankly, I’m just not excited to write it each month, and I don’t want a business ...

Ok, so I must confess that I’m a wedding junkie. I loooove weddings, wedding blogs, wedding planning. Love it. I don’t blog about it a lot here because I’m not engaged, wedding stuff could easily take over the blog, and there are a ton of wedding blogs that are already doing an amazing job.
Anyway, so I saw this video a while back and wasn’t sure if I should share it, but I finally figured what ...

Attention locals: I’m now available for some in-person design work in the Seattle/Tacoma area! I know for some who are nearby, it seems silly to do everything over the internet when you might be just down the street.
So whether you want me to come by for an hour to give a few suggestions, or you want a full design experience that will take several weeks, let’s get together and talk design! It doesn’t have to ...

Lonny magazine launched its new website last week and I have to say, my favorite thing is the addition of a photo gallery. Smart of them to include photos that can easily be reblogged (as I am doing right now!). In fact, I’ve wasted an hour or two clicking around looking at all the pretty images from the past magazines (and psst! Did you hear you can now order print copies of each addition? Not ...

Even though we’re on a tight budget, I’m still day-dreaming about adding new pieces to my fall wardrobe. I thought I’d share some of my browsing favorites here – maybe one of you can spring for these easier than I can! Warning: not all small-budget friendly.
1. Army green tunic, Urban Outfitters. I’d pair it with skinny blank pants and to-the-knee boots.
2. Polka-dot dress, Madewell. So cute with oxford heels and tights. I’d throw on the ...
