Since I’ve been on this kind of farmhouse chic kick for a while, I keep noticing a common design element – pitchers. Pitchers as vases, pitchers as collections, pitchers as styling props – they are EVERYWHERE. But don’t take my word for it… check out these examples (some of them are a bit of a Where’s Waldo while others are quite obvious).

In fact, next weekend my sister is having her Washington wedding reception (last weekend was the Chicago wedding) and I’m thinking pitchers may be the perfect vases for the picnic tables at the park where it will be held. Nice and sturdy, and useful for anyone who ends up taking them home! Do you have pitchers or watering cans that you’ve used decoratively? They are so versatile!

Drooling over that second photo! I have a koi fish pitcher (aka gurgle pot) that I use for flowers. I love the look!

oh yes pitchers are the perfect “vase”! It adds such a whimsical/casual feel to any table! I always rifle through a clients cabinets to find a few of varying height/size and group them together, it’s always a sweet surprise.
