This time of year is so fun. I love coming home each day to a big stack of catalogs with all the new fall things in them! (now if only the clothing items themselves would show up unsolicited…)
Here are some of the items I’m keeping my eye on.
1. A big tote. This one from Moop has pockets inside so I couldn’t lose my phone at the bottom, but it’s still big enough to lug my laptop, a book, a sweater, etc on the train. And it has an adjustable strap option!

2. A big drapey sweater. I love cardigans, but day after day of them I start looking like a character from Pleasantville. This loose one from Banana Republic would let me channel my inner hippie art teacher.

3. Duh, the boyfriend blazer. Love how J. Crew styled it with a simple tee, jeans, and piles of necklaces. Rolled up sleeves make this perfect for me, since I usually have to shop petites for sleeves but regular for my long torso. Scrunching them up means problem solved!

4. This plaid dress was cuter on the model than the mannequin, so maybe it would look good on me too? I’m digging the back-to-the-prairie vibe. Would be cute with a cardigan (told you I’m obsessed) and a wide belt cinched around the waist. Add tights and boots.

5. New jeans. I’m liking this new straight cut from The Gap. Looks very classic, and the dark wash is great for day-to-night transitions.

6. These little booties from J. Crew look wearable and leg-lengthening. Yes, please!

Hmm, now to scrounge up some moolah for a little spending spree…

I love the Banana sweater… I have been eyeing similar ones this fall. The new Gap jeans are so amazing… I actually just ordered that pair, but when they came they didn’t fit and they are out of my size now! Must be popular!
I went to Gap yesterday and tried on every pair of their new styles. Conclusion – the curvy ones are awesome.
Melanie,
I’m your typical hourglass, but I find that the curvy cuts tend to sit a little low on me and hit me on an “out” curve, lol. I do have a longer torso though, so maybe that is why…. I bought some limited edition ones about 8 months ago that are now looking worn but don’t seem to be carried anymore. They were a pretty classic straight cut, so I’m hoping these newly launched ones are similar!

This post makes me want to go fall clothes shopping! Maybe our next get together?
I love all of these. I am so ready for fall, but it is still hot and humid in SC. If readers are needing to make some room in their closets for their new clothes, this may help. http://www.thegreenhangershop.blogspot.com
Love, love, love that blazer!!
oh yes, i’ll take everything you listed here and two of the boyfriend blazers please (one in grey!)
I do like that blazer, if only i could find one that would fit me
( sad face x
Two things I want from your list – the boyfriend blazer and the jeans. I can tell you that those jeans are great – I own a pair. To me, they are skinny jeans because Gap’s skinny fit is skinny, very skinny. I was lucky enough to host a Gap party for my friends and that was the fit I chose to keep.
I haven’t bought a pair of jeans in, oh, 30 years. Longer than you have been alive. Are jeans really all that important? Can you actually sit in the pair on site?
